
We have been made aware by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) of a product recall for JOYHUT Life Jacket.
The product presents a risk of drowning because it was not supplied with the required compliance documentation or markings to demonstrate that it had been adequately conformity assessed.
The product is classed as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), but was not supplied with the required compliance documentation or markings to demonstrate that it had been adequately conformity assessed. Mandatory third-party conformity assessment is required by the relevant Regulations for those products which protect against more serious risks. In the absence of independent assessment, consumers maybe at increased risk, as the product may not provide the level of protection expected when used in the water.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment.
